Dr. Ongaro undertook his undergraduate & postgraduate medical training at the University of Nairobi before proceeding to the University of Pretoria in South Africa for further training in Orthopedics.
He later attended Stellenbosch University, South Africa for advanced training in Interdisciplinary Chronic Wound Care

He also holds certification in Leading High-Performance Healthcare Organizations (LeHHO) and a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Management from Strathmore University, Nairobi.
Dr. Ongaro has special interest in Trauma (Operative, Non-Operative), Joint Arthroplasty (Knee/Hip), Corrective Pediatric Orthopedics, Chronic Wound Care (Diabetic Foot, Vascular Ulcers, Lymph Oedema) and Regeneration Medicine.
In addition to his seat as the Chair of the Board, Dr. Ongaro offers his leadership skills in the Departments of Surgery as well as Arthroplasty, Regeneration Medicine and Chronic Wound Care.
He is a renowned coach and mentor and has conducted trainings in healthcare as well as entrepreneurship around the world.
He is licensed by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Board as a Specialist, Orthopedic Surgery.
